Open Self Assessment in your sidebar to see your live estimate. It updates automatically from your invoices, expenses, properties and any other income you add, so it reflects your real position as you work.

Check your tax settings for your region (UK or Scottish rates) and your accounting basis; both affect how your estimate is calculated.

The timeline shows every deadline that applies to you, including payments on account, so you can see what's due and when well in advance.

Once Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to you, connect to HMRC from Taxes → Making Tax Digital to send your quarterly updates and, once the tax year ends, your Final Declaration straight from BusyBee Hub; see Making Tax Digital quarterly updates and Filing your Final Declaration. Until Making Tax Digital applies to you, use your estimate and timeline to plan ahead, and file your return with HMRC as you do today.
